Using Your Digital Camera for Aerial Photos

aerial 300x200 Using Your Digital Camera for Aerial PhotosSometimes the best view we can get is somewhere up high. Whether from a plane or the top of a building, you can get some pretty amazing shots of the sky or a city skyline if you find the right spot and have the right opportunity. There are some things you need to keep in mind when using your digital camera to take aerial photos, to get the best shot you can.

First, if you are going to be taking pictures through the window of an airplane, turn off your flash or you will end up with some serious glare in your photo. You should also try to take the picture when overcast or if the sun is shining in a different direction. Sun glare can really  ruin the shot and make the window look that much more apparent in your photo.

Consider air pollution and how it can affect your shot. You’ll want to check to see if it’s an Ozone Alert Day, which means smog and pollution is high. If you can reschedule your flight or your visit to whatever building you are shooting from, it’s probably best to do so.

Practice taking shots with your digital camera and you’ll have some great aerial pictures to show for it. Just know you may not get it right the first time so make sure you have plenty of digital memory to take a good number of shots!
